Site Problems

17
OK, all fixed now. Sorry~

Moving

10
Time pass by so fast...
We are in 2012 already, new year, new adventures ahead of us!

For the last months, me, and the creators Watermelon and LemonLeaf had an idea to make our own website.
From this idea, S-Club is born, our new home~

On our free time we worked on the design and website code development.
So we are quite happy to finally open it for public!

There will be my main site where I publish my creations now.
And I am very happy for that now, I don't create "alone" like I used to here.
We have been through some shaded moments for now, but we are crawling back, we always loved to create things for this game.

I know my last message was a bit misguided as to whether I would be sharing my CC again or not.
Whatever goes ahead of us, it is for the future to decide.
Learnt many lessons that we will carry along.

So far we have a new Hair Mesh available for The Sims 3, but we will be updating the site with our old custom content, as well our newest ones, of course.
Along this week will have some mods I hope you all like too, but will be surprise. :)
Many have been asking for the eyelashes already, but it is still a Work-in-Progress.
To manipulate the mesh with the eyes I need to create some sliders for the eyelash accessory to fit fine.
It's the old conflict of Low-Poly vs. High-Poly, results on that.

I've added Google's FriendConnect, so all of you can follow there.
Hopefully we get around using a Social connecting platform to inform of updates as well.

So, guys, I will still reply everyone in here until I get around to put the CC there.
After that, I will be redirecting the URL.

I hope see you guys there too!
Oh, before I forget, haha, the address is:

S-Club @ sclub.mktm.co.uk

As a final note, I would like to thank my friend OrangeMittens, who will be hosting our website.
Without her kindness you would not see our new site so soon.
Thank you, ORANGE! :)

Moment...

So... As for now you all see that I closed the blog..
It was meant to stay closed for sometimes while I solve my thoughts....
I have some things to say...

Someone from another community, got one of my works, and ported it to a different format, with no credits of the person who spent days making it.
Well, I got tired of discussing this with my friends already. This "problem" is solved now anyways.

At the time I closed the blog due to mix of feelings from moments of life then that..
So I thought better to close it and take some time to think where I go next or what I do...
I started receiving mails of people asking me what happened and supporting me and that brought me hope in the community.
I felt glad for that, I never meant to give any trouble here, and I appreciate that you guys enjoy the things I share here.

I've never been attacked by trolls or anything like that.
But to see support of the people who follow me and appreciate my work is fulfilling and gives back the willing I had before when I started modding this game.
I speak to the way people behave over creator works, you are all entitled of your own opinion but to say shit of someone, or try to create a fight, or attack someone, seriously, it's like being surrounded by a bunch of 10 year old children.
Free or pay, it doesn't matter, being a jerk to others just keep people off our community.
A community is meant to be helpful and supportive of others.

Some creators I know don't share their creations because of that.
I wrote this a time ago, but was on the dashboard.
Regarding PralineSims of TSR, using Lemonleaf work on textures, not crediting, not even mentioning anything.
Even worse, she was getting money from that.
And even worse, she tried to accuse Lemonleaf to steal from her.

This has been discussed inumerous times I know that already, but I just wanted to have my saying on this.
Because LL and WM are such talented creators, it is expected that others see their creation to be inspiring, to learn from them.
But to steal from them, it is certainly not something one would expect of "catholics that don't lie" and even swear that in the name of god.
I have taken a look at the time on the textures, it's way too obvious who stole from who.
I support their work because I know how hard they work on their CC and how long it takes to create something like they do.
Your act over all this just made me really disappointed on you, not as a "Sims Custom Content creator", but as the person you might be.
Shows no respect for others, the way you treated this is unbearable, shameful.

Of all this.. this have to change, how can we be a community with people attacking, or stealing from other creators?

Despite all that, there is great people behind nicknames.
And I've been shown that by now.
People that brings joy and will to be around.
After all we are all humans behind computers.

I always liked to create for this game, it is fun, entertaining, always anxious to see results.
So I don't want to leave or stop creating, even if for myself.
My purpose on sharing is that, sharing, see other peoples thoughts, critics, opinions...
Somethings I make to test the game boundaries, or just design something I would like to see on Sims.

Well there is much more I wanted to say...
But, due to I love to write, I see how big this post could get to...
Just how it is getting now...

I just want to let you know, thank you so much all for your visits here, for dropping by leaving comments, sending mails and to show support and appreciation.
It's lovely to see that, and then to come here.
Heck, it means a lot for me at this point, because it is to be part of something.

Writing this because really need to vent, and to express myself now.
Something many creators should as well.
I understand the circumstances of sometimes, not to, but don't let that be a wall from showing others who you are and what you feel.

Other side of things life is treating me well with university exams and the doubts of what path of life to live upon as always.
But I'm soon to be starting some new designs for a new place!
I will still update my mods, as I need to update them for myself too.
So, don't worry, you can relay on me for that.

Well guys...
Whoever you are, just remember to be the best person you can be to others.
Because by helping the next, you are helping yourself.

étonnant~

Sister arrangement, well very old but, not very much of a match of the original inc. sheet, but I think it is a beautiful one.

get your sim to dance and have a good laugh~

Sliders Links

270
I am having some problems with my sliders links, but here are all I have shared: mediafire folder
I have uploaded the last two (Brow Depth and Jawline sets) now to the Mediafire folder too.

Lately very busy with my studies.. Sorry for lack of notes...
Back to what interests you~ (haha :P)

I had this slider for some time, but I never uploaded;

You can download there too ("Nostril Rotate", file: #MK [ts3-hack-slider] nostril-rotate)
It basically "pulls" the nostril and is great for sims with more refined noses I think.
Try it out, who knows what looks you might get!

I also have some Glasses slider but they need more of tweaking on the values. It works like that:

But they don't get well with some hairs, so I am making another slider to avoid that, so can rotate the glasses on all hairstyles too. :)

Hazy day today.. completely lazy... ~

See you guys some other time!
Take care y'all and happy simming! : )

Sunday... Still Alive

41
Hey everyone it's been a while, huh!
Lately I've been working and studying like ever, so my brain is so tired of eating knowledge,
I have been programming like crazy lately, not to mention the numbers at my job....
But yeah, I am still pretty much still alive! Thanks to coffee! (Nonn, I hate coffe!)

I wanted to drop of some update for the blog as this weekend I had free time to simmie stuff :D
At first I tried finishing my last hair mesh, it's pretty solid now, but I still have to touch some things here and there.

A peek of it right now:

Don't know when I finish it, but pretty soon, if my agenda doesn't cut my free time again, that is!

Got some programming over s3sr done, let's say 50% of a sub-functionality, how great huh...
Not in a mood for C#, that's what happens.............

I removed from the grave a veryyyyy old project I had,
now that I have more experience and knowledge on this I was able to come up with something.
It's a accessory mesh for The Sims 3, more specifically an alpha-accessory that acts as a 3D "Fake Eyelash".

This was very tricky to get it to work, not only to make it alpha-enabled without Expansion requirement,
I had to clone a mesh from the base game, and edit the mesh TGIs and complates manually to get it to work right.
I couldn't use the GUI tools we have (TSRW, CTU, ...) because they always borked the mesh.
Due for being a alpha-mesh I had to replace the GEOM shader, as well specific mesh settings I can do only if I don't edit with those tools.
Not to mention the pain to get the lash shape right on the Sim face PLUS smooth vertex weights to match Sim facial movements.
I am speaking technically here, not everyone wants to know how it is done, but just know it is a lot of work. XD

With some textures:

The textures I just drawn mainly to test the difficulty to create a style to be applied to the mesh UV.
And, it's pretty easy, so much that I made around 13 of them.
But I would not release it like that, I want to actually take some time to make them not that rough looking of course.

LemonLeaf and WM will be working on their stencils too, in case I decide to retouch those I did maybe will be at the final product.
Just lately I heard of the CAP, man, they are the cutest things, I can't wait to get some of those kittens to ruin my sofas like in Sims2 haha!
But I am sure Skyrim will be my focus..
I can already see...
Oh, my grades....

Miss the big Apple....... what a loss.....

Slider Set: "Jawline" + "Brow Depth"

155
Phew, finally some time to play on sim things!
Weel, I had these for a while, and just lazy to make pics to upload, but here they are guys. XD
These were requested on my email, actually just the height one, but I ended up doing 3. More control...

The Jawline Soften is GEOM-based and while it acts like heiret original Chin to Neck Slider, they focus more on the width of the vertices below the jawline, to make it more natural.
So you can use it together with heiret original for better results.

The Jawline Rotate one can create a really.. interesting.. look on the jaw viewing through front view, you should try around.

I forgot to upload the brow one, here it is.. XD
The brow depth one is meant to be used with the Forehead Depth for better results on the forehead look.
That one I wanted to make a long time ago, but finally I can get it over with it.
However, I think that a GEOM could be used along in its negatives.
I will see if I can replace that. If so I will update that with GEOM as well.

Hope you can put it to good use on your sims! ッ

HTML5 Snake Game Test

7
I'm currently studying Web 2.0 technologies, this is a test using HTML5 CANVAS.
Rendering real-time with script calculations, great for study, source of9lessons.
To play you need a browser that supports HTML5.
Using arrows to control the "snake".
Speed set on the script to a "normal" (perhaps?) range.

Good luck! XD

Hair Mesh #005 Wip

26
I started doing this hair at this warmth cozy morning, I got really only a base and some detail planes but it's really solid so far (I think)...
2.5 hours of work so far. Stop here, do that, back to that, and so on. Oh, life.

Fringe-less version (WIP (Maybe eternal haha)):
---
Right now I got more solid mesh and textured (thanks to anto XD)
I think it's pretty much done... except for that fringe.. I hate it XD
I am not good with fringes, if don't get it right, remove it. >___<

HM004 Tech + Render

2
HM004 (Tomato) Render
Only wish Sims would render the mesh like that.. >__>

I still think the planes on Sims burned the hair, really.
Sims 2 looks cleaner but less bits on alpha, its unfortunate.
Maybe less amount of planes would give better look... my poor experience.

This is actually the older render for seeing how texture + alpha edge would be applied over planes.
"SCARY" uh?

s3hq (HQ Modification Helper) v1.0.0.0

207
Project: ts3tools Description: Application created to suppress patch-compatibility updates of HQ Modification;
The application will affect The Sims 3 GraphicsRules file for the original mod purposes.
Objective: Allow easy toggle between |enable/disable| |limit sizes| over the referring mod.
GUI
- Texture Size Multiplier 512px or 256px;
   - Switching the Texture Size Multiplier will allow different Texture Sizes to be set;
   - While 256px is not something I consider "significative" change, might help with the usage for some users.

Instead of having to rewrite a bunch of files everytime a patch comes out, this will, hopefully, be able to patch the GraphicRules from now on.
If you like the tools of this project, you can write a review of it or simply click "Like" on the project review page.

s3sr (Scripter) v0.0.9.3092

47
Project: ts3tools Description: Process batch operations on the game packages through a Custom Script.
Objective: Export a Game resource(s) from The Sims 3 to another package altering its default attributes.
Custom Extension: (*.s3sr), allows easy running of script operations along with the tool.

Attention
This is a "complex" tool, if you are unfamiliar with resource editing avoid this.
It is recommended, however, only use it in case someone provides you an already written script file for it.

DO NOT share the output package of your script created with this tool.
It breaks the purpose of this application, in case of structure changes on resource(s).

Slider Hack (Patch v1.29.55 Compatible)

366
Features:
  • Increase the default range between Minimum and Maximum of Facial Sliders;
  • Increase the maximum number of sliders available;

GEOM Sliders: Upper Lip

457
  These were requested by KATSU。, slider to modify the upper lip "tip" in width;
And now, requested by Anubis360, slider to "curve" the upper lip outer area;

- Remade Tip Width in bidirectional, however it will affect the height on the top;
I did this because due to the face being low-poly, horizontal scaling vertices in that area can cause distortion very easily.
  Instead, it will create a triangle effect on the Upper Lip tip. Simulating less-width;
I don't recommend going to the slider limits over vanilla on these, vertex spacement is too low and they will overlap easily.

I plan on doing some mouth philtrum sliders so can have more control over the look of that area.
I made width already it just need some retouches on the around vertices.

Lately a mess, next week my little vacation is over, and now going to start on programming on university, finally.
While I can't wait to start it, but I heard Oxford gives not one base language to develop logic, but basically a bunch of them = DEATH PLUS HEADACHE
So if you don't hear from me on a while, you know what happened!
Anyway, make good use of this~! ッ

Leon S. Kennedy Cloth WIP

16
Lapiz made Leon inspired hair mesh, and I couldn't help, by being the Resident Evil addict I am, it motivated me to try to recreate his cloth in 3D.
He changed a lot from his last appearance on the fourth game, this is a render of Leon on Damnation:

Don't know how long will take me to finish, if actually to be able to, but this will be the WIP topic
to people who want to see the development and progress on my work. ッ

3DS Pose Test #003

12
To contribute to the works of Wes, mesher, cmo and OM I've been working on skinning TS3 body meshes into an working 3DS Max Scene.
So far, the only modelling tools available for Custom Animation using SMD is Milkshape and Blender.
Unfortunately, SMD Plugin is not importing very well, and I still trying to contact the coders.

But I am commonly used to 3DS and to be able to make poses/animations there would be quite easier.
sunhair found a working SMD plugin for Max last version, which was the reason that encouraged me on trying to make a working scene.
This is a quick pose I made, believe me, it is SO MUCH EASIER compared to MS, that I HAD to go on with it.

Sorry for the bald creepy guy renders!
Anyway, I am here sharing with you, mainly for test, actually.
So, if you could, let me know it is all working well on other computers, if so, HOORAY! ッ

Hopefully, I can provide the scene and small MAXScript I think the plugin allows that! Until~

P++#001: Pupil Shapes Sliders

9
Was just trying some things around and I made this and wanted to share.
They work better on only some contacts though, maybe not very useful for many. But I think it's cool! ッ

You will need my Eyeball Mesh Replacement so these sliders can work. Have fun!

P++#001: Eyeball Slider Set

206
This was one of my very first sliders I wanted to make.
But at the time I did not had the knowledge to continue, so I've scrapped this idea out.
Now I returned in trying again, and this time I was able to, thanks for the help of CMar.
Without her help you would never seen these! CMar, can never thank you enough, you are awesome! ッ

Well, these are a set of sliders that controls the eyeballs (Iris + Pupil).
First of all, these are not just sliders, you see, in order to be able to make these I had to replace EA meshes with a custom mesh instead.
So I had to make a mesh but with a different edge orientation which you can see in the mesh comparison picture.
If you are a modder try not to use the vertex ID range mentioned in this post.
And also, if you could provide me with different ones, so I would not use either.

5 sliders in total, 4 to edit the eye pupil, 1 to edit the iris.
I tried my best to make the GEOM slider work well with each other, and they do!
But don't use high amounts on the slider, or else it will mess the vertex placement.
I made also, included with these, two sliders that help to fix/maintain shapes (pupil height scale and pupil width).

I was so annoyed, with TS3 have many freedom on things, EA doesn't make interesting stuff.
Well, apart from that Magic book, which I loved! XD

But I actually got this idea from eyes seen in TS2, like teru eyes, for example, there is some that is cat-looking (pupil slit).
In TS3 to make such, creators would need to make those eyes in the texture itself instead.
But having these sliders you can create all sort of looks with eyes.
Anyways, consider these sliders in beta stage.
Not everything is perfect, so I might be fixing/correcting them while I get more time.
Also, the sliders are set to children/toddler, but I did not replaced their meshes yet.
Because I couldn't find their meshes on the game packages.

I will be posting the UVWs later, for creators that make eyes, so they can make it fully compatible with these sliders.
All current eyes textures work very well with it though, assuming they are based on EA's original proportion.
I hope you like these, and if you can, leave some feedback of the usage, very important in order to improve! ッ
Sorry for writing a lot, but I like to make things clear.
And I hope YOU READ IT ALL! Thanks and make good use of it!
Update: 10-07-11

X-Axis accurate now. (slight cross-eye fix)
If you downloaded Pupil Shapes edits you will have to update them as well.
If you find any problems, let me know and I will see what I can do. Thanks!
