Blog Anniversary Gift Hair Mesh #004: "Rain"

  Hey everyone! It's been a year since I started modding and sharing things for The Sims game!
I am actually surprised I stood modding and creating for a game this long.
I've learnt a lot in the process, as well met some great and awesome people in the community.
I just wanted to say thank you all for your visits and your interest in my works.
It is always a pleasure to do something and to "hear" out what world out there thinks.
With such different conceptions, beliefs, tastes, everything.

Now, here is small gift for you all I've been working on this hair for a while, and now it is finally done (I think)!
I want to start sharing progress on things on my tumblr as well, maybe just tweet some #rant too, or maybe even here! ッ

Well, this one took a while, it was going to be simple at first, but I wanted it to be layered.
But I don't have much experience with layering, not regarding the conception of what would become.
However this is how it turned out.. I hope I did not screwed anything up this time. [like-web-nest ◔̯◔
Well, nothing more to say, I hope you enjoy the hair and have fun with it! ッ

Oh, TS2 just needs tweaks, as Anto did everything, stubborn!
I would like to release HM003 first, however, and add some animation on the bangs if possible.
So, watch up the corners *cough*! ッ

I made this mesh as a gift to a person who really wanted such style. I was inspired by the early 80's.
I hope you all like it, specially.. hmm.. ORANGE!

As I promised, here it is the TS2 version of latest mesh. ^^
Sorry for taking me so long to upload... @.@
I love that in TS2 we have animation.
5 edits before being actually satisfied with the bones... that means... headache...
I animated the ponytail, so it moves like a real one! *-*
Also, the sides (left/right) of the mesh are animated just a bit as well!

May I just add, I LOVE TS2! It's official... XD

  Second attempt on doing a hair mesh I tried a ponytail, inspired on lovely new Lara Croft. ^^

Sorry that it miss a bit of volume, I guess have to learn step by step.
I do meshes for fun, so it's quite joyful to see the result. : }
Worse is that The Sims 3 render very different on how I see in the modelling program. But I'll get around it!

There are two files in the download, one is the original hair with shine control texture*.
Second is optional, you can delete if you want, highlight control texture. They will both show in your game;
I've drawn the highlight texture over and it looks good. Try to use the red channel to control the depth on the texture.
It is unfortunate that I've lost many details while saving as DDS. :(

This hair is high-poly, I don't want to reduce the mesh too much, as I would lose all the detail and effort I put into it.
This means that Workshop screwed up some vertices on fat morph, unfortunately.

Well, apart from all bad things, I hope you like it... :x

Finally, it's here! XD
Big Big thank you for Cazy for all the help (and patience...) in helping me to convert the hair to The Sims 2!
I never created for it before so I was completely clueless of how-to...
Plus, it's a lot more trouble than TS3! XD
I want to make my meshes for both, so I this is first release.

It's binned into 6 colors and animated (I tried... XD)
Still trying to get hang on how the lighting would work better for pictures... ._.
So, I leave another big thanks for Cazy and Anto for help with the pictures as well. *-*

Well, I hope you like the hair. I made this mesh inspired by Nancy, from the movie Sin City. : )

After weeks of edits and tests I finally finished it.. This is my first hair mesh!

I am quite nervous on releasing this... It took me a lot of time and patience...
I couldn't do it without the support and help of awesome friends, you know who you are. = )

I lost count of how many times I edited this already...
I did all LODs, I tried to make breast bones but they are very difficult, so bones are not perfect...
I tried to make fat morph, but in game the hair simply.. EXPLODED... sorry...
The poly count is very good (I think! XD) you can see it below for each LOD.
Only the polygons are calculated as the game format.
Texture is very beta as I am experimenting..

I want to make a version for The Sims 2 as well, I will try to read some tutorials, and maybe I will be uploading it too!

I have been feeling very inspired lately, and I dedicate this hair mesh to one of my favorite movies, Sin City.
I was inspired by "Nancy", interpreted by the lovely actress Jessica Alba!

UPDATE: I've fixed some gaps on the mesh, I apologize for the inconvenience.
Also I put a different texture and alpha, to compensate the update.
I also made a new simmie! XD

NewSea #J041: Alpha Edit & Retexture

This retexture was requested, so here it is.
The Alpha Edit is a removal of some Alpha on some little planes and a edit on one the bangs I don't remember which... XD

I am using my last texture on this, as I updated the last retexture.
I drawn some "shadows" so it looks more realistic, I don't know if it looks good..
Please tell me your opinion, I hope you like it, specially the person who requested it! ^^

PS: Seems like NewSea now make the thumbnails properly! YAY! XD

NewSea #J035: Alpha Edit & Retexture

UPDATE: I've added the Child/Toddler versions, as well changed the texture to my latest, much better than last one. XD
Simply love this one, NewSea did an awesome job as usual on the mesh, but textures are darkkkk. XD
I tweaked my current texture a bit now to add more depth, so blonde may not look as it did in past.
The Alpha Edit is actually a very subtle edit on the hair line, to reduce it a bit, so it doesn't look so open.
I did not made child/toddler version, but if you want just ask and I will include them.

In case you wonder why all Sims are using same clothing is because I put then on "Battler" (Umineko no Naku Koro) style! Ha-ha! >_<

aWT & Lili: Towel Turban ~ All Ages

I've been working this with Lili, it's a hair towel turban from The Sims 2.
It's available to all ages and comes with one stencil that control the towel, so you can play around with patterns.
I worked in the conversion and Lili in her amazing textures. I hope you like our work! XD

NewSea #J029: Retexture

This hair was really frustating to fix the CASPs, but I managed to do it! YAY!
It must've been an old version of Workshop NewSea used.
It will not replace the original but will recreate the same hair from it using this retexture.
That way you have both mine and original!

By the way, the FIX file is to fix the original hair thumbnails in game, NewSea forgot to set the group to null.
It's necessary to match the CASP resource key in order for Custom Thumbnail to work.
So, that package fix it.
