How nice of this person, to get others meshes and not even credit them, very honest.
Meshing requires a great deal of time and effort, specially with hairs.
I don't mind what others make of my content, but I would like to at least be credited for such.
If she had the ability to strip a LOD from my file, sure she had a mind to know that one should at least tell who created it, at least.
It is just sad, and makes the sharing feels in vain.
I wasn't going to write about it, but these past time, ever since I got into the Sim community I saw a lot of these.. thefts, properly called.
See this: WM Notice
Some person stealing works from WM, LL, CoolSims, NewSea, Peggy, and many many others.
And WORSE, trying to sell it!
And now I just saw the creator NewOne has posted one as well: Here
A person trying to make money of a lovely 2D creator over at TSR as well.
And it doesn't stop there....
People sometimes ignore the policy. And even get into porting content to other formats and games.
It happens a lot with one called iMVU, many content from The Sims is ported there.
Plus, making it PAY and don't credit no one, as if they created it.
What is this?
What is the thought of these people?
People that steal things and even wants to make money over other people's works and efforts?
Please, if you see these, report it or do whatever in your power to help.
What is the world coming to... makes me lose my faith with humanity...
Isn't there any decency any more?

It looks like TSR took away the patterns,I went to look and it was gone.At least with TSR there are other people in control and they can do things like taking it away for downloading,in other cases there are no higher ups to enforce these policies. Thanks for the post, the more people share news like this, the more we know to be aware of this kind of actions.
That is messed up! I am a big fan of yours and truly appreciate what you share with the community. I hope that these shameless individuals don't cause you to quit from creating and sharing your wonderful creations! :D
This person "bebana" aways use others meshes without permission/give credits (mainly of Rose sims)... I reported some of her creations today, let's see if any will result... btw, thank you for sharing your talent with us, your creations are amazing
I'm really glad you posted about this here on your blog.
This will help people to know about what have happened and they'll be aware.
Again I'm very sorry for what happened to one of your creations. But keep creating and don't give up cause you're very talented creator.
That is horrible. I can't believe this! Can you do anything about it?!
I'm so sorry this happened! I truly am! It's unfair. Your time, your effort and what your skills you put into that mesh... it was stolen...
Thank you for sharing your creations with us. You are great. And so is what you do. Don't stop. Don't be discouraged. I love everything you have done for us in the Sims Community and to see it was stolen... it hurts...
Keep creating. Don't give up. ☺ ♥
I commented on one of bebana's "work" and they took it down overnight >_<
TSR really is a bunch of thieves. the day they drop is the day there will be parties in the street.
I know how much time you spend making meshes, and the effort you put on them, and it's really unfair that other people "steal them" and share them like if they were the creators.
What could I say? What you said about imvu happened to me, tons of hairs were stolen and sold there, I had to contact the administrator and they removed the ones I reported but there were a lot more I couldn't find, and not to mention peggy's ones...
The only thing I can say is that we need to ignore these things. It's not even in our hands, we need support of the community, they should report everything they see, but the thing is that there are people who don't know from where the meshes come, so they just "buy" them... That's how things work, people are rude, of course, not all of them, but a huge quantity of them are, what you called, thieves.
Hope all of this ends soon... Just be strong and ignore those things, I want you to continue meshing :)
No offense against anyone, I am glad they removed the item in question. I don't want good people/creators like you pull a Helaene. One side rips other's work, and another slings shit on artists. Have a good day!
Hi Awt..my full support in this cause, I published a post with the news, do not fret, word spreads.
A hug.
This is the main reason why I don't want to share my creations. I saw that person at taobao a while ago, and all I could think was "Why are these people getting away with it?" Peggy and Rose both have taobao accounts, so they must have seen it, but maybe they just don't care enough.
That is so bad of those people and you! The link is not working anymore I think they removed it,,
I hope you don't stop creating because of that, you make wonderful things, I just started with Sims game, before only played but then interested in the modding works.
So it is really new for me, but to see this is very discouraging thinks.
I like it your creators keep united, and the coomunity keeping alive with the honest ones as long as can be! -fê
No. Decency has been replaced by greed and dishonesty because we live in a world where everyone thinks they're entitled to whatever they want. Don't let these thieves upset you, karma has a way of finding justice. Thank you for all your efforts.
A lot of people just don't realize how precious copyright can be to a person, whether or not they're doing it for free or not. It's sort of this idea of 'I found it on the internet, so I can do whatever I want with it'.
To those who threaten to take their creations offline, or not put up their creations in the first place, due to this: keep your creations up. Thieves don't realize or care when something is taken down; they just move on, and you instead punish the people who *are* supporting you.
The way you *can* fight back is report theft when you see it, educate people who may not understand what they're doing, and make yourself present so that people can point to your website and say 'this is the original creator'. I do that with my artwork; the more I advertise, the harder it is for someone to pass the work as their own.
I hate to tell you this, but the only copyrights are those belonging to EA. Your work is derivative of EA's work.
Moreover, the people at TSR feel pretty free to steal the copyrighted work of others. Just look at all of the pictures which steal other people's artwork!
The Sims 3 EULA states:
"when you contribute content through the Software, you expressly grant to other users of the Software the non‐exclusive, perpetual, transferable, worldwide, irrevocable right to access and use, copy, modify, display, perform, and create and distribute derivative works from, your contributed content in connection with the Software, and to distribute and otherwise communicate your contributed content as a component of works that they create using the Software, for example, The Sims lots or The Sims videos, without further notice, attribution or compensation to you. You hereby waive any moral rights of paternity, publication, reputation, or attribution under applicable law with respect to EA’s and other players’ use and enjoyment of such content contributions in connection with the Software."
Read it and weep!
Yay stolen creations! Hate to this but this is just as bad as the people who make paintings for the game and they don't credit the original artist. Try to fight it and they're all, "Oh it's just game, no need to make such a big deal." It is a big deal because it's their art and it's in their own copyright to have a say in what you do with it. It pisses me off. Sorry for my rant. Haha.
T.J. I know of the EULA well.
But EA doesn't care, there is too many people involved in this matter for them to do anything against it.
Plus, it helps to attracting buyers for their products, however, while I do know everything I share for Sims is copyrighted by EA, it is still of own doing.
There is effort and work involved.
And thus, I think a name for doing such must be given, for the least of the purpose of sharing.
After all we don't win anything with this, that is why.
For example, many works have to be adapted to the game's fittings before they are released.
But this is not about EA, it's about us. There are many creators who got stolen too.
And still are.
This is a very open matter, I know.
I was felling discouraged from such, but as Anto said, I guess we just can't do anything about it, and as Tanyuu gave emphasis, what we have to do is to act against it.
While there is still the matter about taobao, unfortunately.
Thank you all, once again.
It's good to see new faces around here and that you take your time to reply with your words.
It is much appreciated, know I never forget, thank you.
T.J. Streak-
While this is true, that makes it even worse when people take that content and sell it. Not only are they taking content others have released for free, they're selling it regardless of the fact.
The way to fight back is to make it clear that buying custom Sims 3 content is the exception, not the norm. Some people will get swindled, but it's better that they realize they have than to feel as if buying custom Sims 3 content is 'normal'.
Well pay creators shouldnt bother for getting stolen, they are pay, people making money of pay things, its not any problem with that. If you would then it would not either. That is why Peggy, Rose, NewSea, simply don't care for the items there. Or who would think they do, they don't.
^ How so? The work are still theirs, and for them being pay or not is completely irrelevant to the subject in matter, you are entitled to your opinion, but it doesn't make justice for them to be stolen from someone who acts this way.
If you make something, and give/sell it to someone, would you like that person taking it and giving away or selling it?
If for only to give, it is understandable, whatever the receiver does with it is of his/her own responsibility, which we can not control.
But whatever one does with it, comes in judgement the respect for the person that gave such thing in first place, don't you think?
Agreed, it looks like not only have the items been taken down but that user was banned.
Just to say, from a legal standpoint, it isn't actually theft, as the EULA license states that all custom content is freely transferable, regardless of the creator or credit. At best, this is a case of misappropriation of intellectual property, which is still a pretty weak charge. It's just the unfortunate problem of making custom content for a game.
You know... not all at TSR are thieves... I for one create MY OWN meshes... and have had them STOLEN by CrimsonGirl.. and several others... with out even a by your leave!!! I put not just hours, but DAYS into each mesh... a full set usually takes from 2 to 3 WEEKS to complete!! AND, if I want to post them to TSR as a Featured Artist, that is MY DAMN business!! Not YOURS not the PBMD's.. not anyones!
Sincerely,
